Throw Pillow as Nose Warmer

Not much going on in this corner of the world this morning. I'm just happy it's Saturday. Woo hoo! The job is going well, but I've grown out of the habit of such prolonged daily engagement with people -- it's nice to have some time to myself! I'm hoping to get out and do some photography today, and Dave and I might see a movie.

I ate the rest of our peppery pasta last night, picking out the peppercorns just like I did the first night. I thought maybe 24 hours of marinating would render it inedible, but no, it was fine. Dave went on a pub outing with some people from work, but I just came home to hibernate with Olga.

Isn't she cute? She loves to keep her nose warm. She presses it into my leg when she lies next to me, or buries it somehow in the fabric of the couch or the bed. I guess it must feel weird to have a big wet chilly nose.

I'm reading Reza Aslan's biography of the historical Jesus, "Zealot." This is the book that prompted a Fox News interviewer to challenge Aslan for daring, as a Muslim, to write about Jesus. I'll be interested to see what it's like. The librarians at school are writing reviews for the new books they've read to display alongside the books on the shelves -- maybe this will be my contribution. I just don't want people to think I'm some kind of zealot myself!

I know what you mean about prolonged engagement with people. The week after I got back from the residency I didn't want to see or talk to anyone.

I too need time alone, I never get bored with me. Love this picture, I could snuggle with her any day.

Oh my god. That picture is just the very essence of dogginess.
I heard that author on NPR and I want to read the book too. It sounded really fascinating.
My daughter and I went out for supper last night and we went to a Mexican restaurant. I ordered Shrimp Diablo and the waiter warned me it was spicy. "Oh, no problem," I said. I figured he meant "gringo spicy" which ain't nothing to me.
First bite I realized it was HABANERO spicy. Whoa! I thought of you and Dave and your green peppercorns. It was good though. Once my tongue had been blasted completely it was fine.

Better than a chilli nose.

Curious about the book, when interviewed he is articulate and unemotional, just factual- as facts go...they seem to change with the weather. "holy Blood ,Holy Grail" has been my go to book for the history of christianity, though it may be last years facts...it is an old book, banned in several catholic countries back in the day- You have probably already read it. Olga- like a BOSS!

I am so curious to hear what you think of the book. I found it fascinating - and - too short. Now I'm reading his book about Islam.

I would have a hard time working around people full time at this point in my life. Even one at a time, as my clients arrive for massage, can be overwhelming.

Olga is adorable. Jake always wanted his nose out of harm's way. Sometimes he would lie and the floor, tuck his nose under the couch. Just in case - I guess!

I'm interested in that book -- I've always loved books that really delve into the historical Jesus, especially those that illustrate just how radical his teachings were --

Mike has been EXTRA introverted at home now that school has started - it really drains him. I guess I'm used to human interaction after 11 years at my job :)

LOVE that Olga (who I STILL call Lola in my head - ha!).
